If you are not always looking for new clients, and marketing yourself, that leaves you with a problem (and a smaller paycheck) that could have been avoided if you had a plan on how to keep getting consistent coaching clients. And keep in mind that consistent coaching clients are not always the same clients over and over again. They are basically a steady stream of clients that you can begin working with when other projects begin to wrap up.
5 Easy Steps for Consistent Clients
#1 Always Promote Yourself
I completely understand when you have so much work on your plate that you feel as if you have no time or energy to promote yourself. And why would you if you don’t have time to take on anything else?? BUT, you must be promoting yourself and your brand all of the time, if you want to avoid lulls and missed paychecks! This is easy to do by repurposing your content or making announcements that you will have availability in a month or two. There are dozens of easy ways to promote yourself every single day, so just suck it up and do it for your future!
#2 Always Keep Your Relationships with Past Clients on the Up and Up
Most of the clients you have worked with in the past would make excellent future clients as well, so make sure you are checking in with them on occasion to see how things are going. Every once in a while, you may find that you catch them at the right moment when they have a new project in the works, and they will hire you on the spot. After all, you did amazing work for them in the past!!
When I talk about sharing your knowledge, I am referring to the information you can share through blog posts and social media. My clients are always worried about giving too much away and it is sort of a fine line or creating value and giving away your whole coaching program for free. But…sharing little tidbits of VALUABLE advice can be rewarding for you when new clients end up contacting you because of it.
#4 Always Focus on the Quality of Your Work
It is so difficult to focus on the quality of your work when you are churning out projects quickly. I understand that you may think you need to do this in order to make as much money as possible. However, your clients are going to notice when you rush through something and they will not be happy if the work needs to be redone. You will get more clients when the ones you have are happy because they will recommend you to their friends and acquaintances 80% of my clients are from referrals.
#5 Always Make Contacting You Super Simple
Your clients, present, past, and future, should always be able to contact you easily. Therefore, please do not hide your contact information at the bottom of your website or somewhere in the middle of a post that rarely gets noticed. Instead, put your contact info somewhere it can be easily spotted and make it stand out! Do this on your website, social media, emails, and anything else your clients are looking at.
Girl, if you follow these five steps, you are going to have a consistent stream of clients that will keep you busy for eternity.
